Alphabet Game

The alphabet game I am about to share with you is one of many ways you can utilise the alphabet to train your brain to think fast. The human brain is a complex organ that is responsible for all body functions and every action you undertake at any point in your life. By training it to think fast you can develop the skills to process tasks and learn new things rapidly. I don’t need to explain the benefits of possessing such skills.

My Brain Trainer is an online resource for brain training games and tools to enhance cognitive function, mental processing speed, learning capacity and much more. I highly recommend their site.

This game is a very simple drill you can do to enhance processing speed. Have you ever found it hard to come up with an answer to a question that you know the answer to? This is because the brain stores information in various “files” that are accessed in order of importance. When you give someone time to think you are allowing them time to access those files. However we are not always provided with the freedom of time, sometimes we need answers right away. The alphabet game is one of many that can help train your brain to access its “archives” more rapidly and precisely.

The Game

This game is very simple and requires at least two people. It can also be done in a group.

One person/group is “in” and another person is the one asking the questions. Basically the one asking the questions suggests a category for each letter and the person who is in will name as many things within that category as possible. There is a set time limit for answering.

Example: the person asking the questions says “A Animals”. The in person then names as many animals as possible that start with A. Then move to B, where the category might be cars and so on. Once the alphabet is complete you can move on to round two. In round two you might get more specific by suggesting “A Mammals” instead of animals in the broad sense.

The game is then scored for each letter. The person with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

That’s the first alphabet game. It is extremely basic and simple but when you play it you will understand the power it has to enhance cognitive functions. Plus it’s fun.
