Mother Of All Skill

Have you ever heard that repetition in the mother of all skill? I bet you have. This is such a simple concept that it is often brushed off for more complex methods of mastery. However, I am giving it a revival as a tool to be used to attain enormous power and accomplishment in any calling. It should be noted though that it is not simply about repeating something over and over until you are a master because there are pitfalls with this approach that have been researched throughout the years.

Being a master does require the mother of all skill, however there is a certain application that true masters in any form use that allows them to exceed the levels of wannabes to the point of appearing gifted or even superhuman.

Personal Evolution uses this same concept to develop raw, fundamental skills and traits both physically and mentally. I haven’t the time or patience to help everyone that comes my way to apply this mother of all skill to every specific thing that takes a person’s fancy. What I do is provide the naked foundations upon which people can use their own intellect and creativity to direct their focus in a way that allows them to become a master at anything they choose, provided the student is willing to be disciplined and consistent enough to reach that level.

The world today needs masters who can think and act beyond the level of those who have come before. This is necessary in order to build a “new world order” if you will. One where people in all fields of endeavour can step up and use their profound knowledge, skill-sets and focussed abilities to create new things, push new boundaries and take mastery to a new level.

Keep in mind that this is not for those wanting a fast and easy answer to success, skill acquisition, physical development etc. This is not for the weak minded, lazy individual seeking an “answer”. What I intend to provide is a stimulant of thought and a prompter of action for those willing to put in the necessary disciplined focus necessary to apply the mother of all skill and become a master in their chosen calling.

Another thing to note is that this is just a text, something to prompt thought and action. This is not some magic formula. It may even seem too simplistic and basic for those with a belief system that suggests that for anything to be worthwhile it must be complicated or overly difficult. All that I am providing here is a model, something to use to acquire skills, traits and abilities. If you doubt the effectiveness of such a simple model then either ignore it and let others apply it in their chosen context with their own creative ingredients or seek to learn face to face.

What I am here disclosing is an art form, not a set of magic instructions. Applied artfully, skilfully and consistently in the right context, the model here described is a tool for ultimate power that has the potential of seeing that those who apply it gain absolute power in whatever focussed area they have chosen.

Who has used this mother of all skill to become a master?

Without sound evidence and an example to relate something to, it is difficult to fathom within the creative faculties of the brain how something so simple can create such power. Here’s a list of a few such people who have applied the mother of all skill to become masters well beyond their predecessors.

  • Martial Arts Masters: Martial artists have, for centuries, used the mother of all skill to develop some of the amazing skills they possess. A lot of the skills and abilities claimed are just hype or fiction, however I have experienced the very real side of their ability firsthand. There is real evidence that has shown old men that have trained for years be almost as solid as a rock. Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido is seen in video footage surrounded by several younger martial artists being almost impossible to take down due to the practise and mastery of weight distribution.

  • Mentallists, Illusionists and Magicians: Many illusionists such as Criss Angel have defied logic and perception by performing illusions so mind-bending that the human brain can’t help but see it as real. How does a man levitate six feet in the air with no evidence of wires or any other assistance? It’s due to his application of consistent, repetitive and focussed use of targeted techniques to develop the skills necessary to be able to fool the human mind so effectively.

  • Athletes: There have been athletes throughout the years that have defied the so-called limitations of the human body by breaking world records. The same goes for athletes with such a level of skill that they out-shine their competition despite the other athletes having the same years of training.

  • Scientists and Inventors: We have come a long way over past 200 years or so. The technology we have today would have been seen as witchcraft a mere 150 years ago. People dedicate their lives to a single focus of developing something of use. These people are remembered throughout the ages for their breakthroughs in biological engineering, mechanical invention, medical discoveries and so on.

All of these masters applied the mother of all skill in one way or another. The similarity between them is that they know where to direct their focus and that they know they need to be disciplined, consistent and have the flexibility to calibrate their results along the way.

Applying the mother of all skill

So what is it I am referring to that I am claiming to be the mother of all skill? Well it is a concept, a model for acquiring skills and developing abilities that is profound in its simplicity.

You see, when someone seeks to learn a new skill they set out to break it down into manageable chunks and learn the skill in bits and pieces. Each time a person fails they will likely keep trying and trying until they begin to improve. Most of the time people hit plateaus that they can’t seem to move beyond and find themselves at their upper limit.

The research I have reviewed in relation to this approach has found that if you cannot do something like spell a certain word for example, simply trying will make the inability even worse. This is because it creates a pattern of failure. All you are doing is essentially conditioning yourself to not be able to spell the word.

Instead, it has been found that if you are failing to do something consciously then you need to take a time out before repeating. You need to calibrate and try a different approach. However, even this is not 100% effective. The reason being that if you try a totally different approach you might be eliminating the very components that are effective, hence stunting your development of the skill or ability.

So the key is directed focus, consistency, control, awareness and calibration. So how are these things applied in context?

The following are the simple steps to applying the mother of all skill…

  • Develop awareness and control: Begin by consistently practising to control and direct your focus and your senses. This is a universal skill that can be used in any context. One simple way is to practise by putting yourself in a comfortable position somewhere, breathe rhythmically and deeply relax. Then focus 100% of your efforts on one of your senses at a time while blocking out all others. Practise this enough and you will have complete control of your awareness and focus.

  • Develop absolute focussed consistency: This is a simple but not always so easy step. In order to develop a skill or acquire an ability, you must be consistent and have such targeted focus that nothing can penetrate it. People who dabble and try spread themselves thin rarely develop a mastery level of skill in any area. Those who become masters are the ones who are focussed and consistent beyond that of the average individual. Put all of your attention to what you want to develop and do it consistently.

  • Calibrate: Each time you do something, you need to calibrate to it. If something does not work, isolate it. Ensure though that what you are isolating is in fact the offending piece of the puzzle. In addition, you also need to isolate the components that are working. This practise gives you the skill to be able to be aware of the intangible aspects of human learning and the development of ability. Over time you can do this almost unconsciously until you can master anything within a fraction of the time.

  • Learn and practise like a child: A child throws themselves into everything without fear of consequences. An adult is overcautious and tries to analyse everything to the point of compulsion. When you learn or focus your consistent attention on acquiring a skill or ability, you need to do it as if you are a child. Learn it as a whole chunk rather than in bits and pieces.

That sums up the mother of all skill. Simple isn’t it? Try it, it can take more discipline than most people have ever used in their life but this is how people become extraordinary.
